History

A History of Keeping People Safe

Founded in 1978 by Fred Plunkert during his 30-year career as a professional firefighter (and 20 subsequent years as a Volunteer!), WFX has delivered fire safety products and services to Carroll County and Baltimore County Maryland and Pennsylvania businesses for more than 40 years. A family-owned and operated business, WFX has grown to add locations and services to better protect our customers in York County, Adams County, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Frederick, Chambersburg, Washington County, Montgomery County, and the D.C Metro area. Today, Bob and Becky Plunkert carry on the legacy of the former Westminster Fire Extinguisher, working to keep people and businesses safe and secure today and for generations to come.
